Underdog - Info from Toon Tracker
  He was a super-canine who talked in rhymes, and was the alter-identity of Shoeshine Boy. He was usually called into action by his girlfriend and ace TV reporter Sweet Polly Purebred by saying "Oh where, oh where has my Underdog gone?". The TV show debuted on October 3, 1964, on the NBC network and continued until 1973.

Laika
 
The first living creature to orbit the earth was a dog. Named Laika(barker in Russian) she blasted off aboard the Soviet Union's Sputnik 2 on November 3, 1957. With no way to bring her back to earth, she became the first creature to give her life for the exploration of space.

  Onion is a miniature bull terrier that's only two years old. She's in the new Ewan McGregor movie called 'Scenes of a Sexual Nature', due out November 2006, was also in a pop promo for the Norwegian band A-ha!, and earned a Gold Good Citizen Award. She is immortalized in a painting, she's the subject of a range of line drawings, and has even been sculpted.
